Homework (Learning Practice)
Homework (known as Learning Practice) reinforces what is learned at school and instills good work
habits. Assignments are either begun in class or students are given careful instructions for correct completion, which means students
should always know the directions of their assignments when working on
them at home.
Our class has homework Monday through Thursday. We usually do not have homework on weekends, so that students have time to spend with family and friends. occasional long-term projects or missing work may dip into the weekend, but this is an exception, not the rule.

Please:
-Check your scholar's agenda every night. This demonstrates your interest and consistent support in their education and
supports student-parent communication and student responsibility.
(A "Show me your completed work and I'll check it off with you" approach is the strongest approach to avoid
assignments, knowledge, and communication falling though the cracks once they leave the classroom.)
-Work with your child to stay on top of
long-term projects and reading goals. It is a life skill to be able meat deadlines and due
dates, prioritize, and reach work and school expectations. This is new to them and they will be thankful for the extra support as
they develop into college-and-career ready young adults.
Students are expected to write in their agenda every day before leaving school and call a responsible and reliable student for any absent work or important classroom information.
